Just about the time that you grenade the compressor side of your turbo, a new cooler would be a good idea.
About the time that while your truck is running, you spray windex or soapy water on the cooler, and it bubbles away like Jessica Simpson. A new cooler would be a good idea.
But, until then, as long as you keep the heat exchanger fins clean and clear, don't have any holes or cracks, and haven't grenaded your turbo. Your intercooler should be as happy as Larry.
Enjoy cruising, and peace of mind.

I know of a few guys at or a little over 70psi of boost with the stocker but I dont know if they would benifit from a after market one? I cant say what the stockers efficency limit is but they can take a pretty good squeeze before they pop.
