What's wrong with my setup?
I have been reading some posts about what guys are dyno'ing with their trucks. I've noticed that some trucks with the same or similar injectors and no box are running real close to the numbers I made (330/782) Now I realize that the Banks Big Hoss (level 5) is not that aggressive, but it does tap the wire and seems like I should see more than I did. Is my wire tap loose? I plan to go to a COMP , but I want to make sure this setup is what it should be power wise. It sure seems to be low. Can anybody else post their dyno numbers with just injectors?

I have always read and been told that you want to be 1:1 on the dyno for the most accurate results. Is this not true. The shop i go to always runs them 1:1, 5th gear in my case. What is the standard then to comparing dyno numbers??

ever where i have dynoed used the highest gear they had. i have heard that once you are over 500 hp that you will get bigger #s in 1 to 1 compared to over drive. i will be able to try that out here real soon.

Think of it the other way - what kind of numbers do you think the truck would produce in 1st? It would hardly know the drum was there as it accelerated to redline!

Where in the RPM range are you guys starting the run??? 1200?? 1500??
I'll be dynoing in a few weeks, and I would think that you'd need to start the run at 1200 to get the same results as on the street (that's where I end up after I shift), but I don't know how well the dyno will spool the turbo at those low RPM.

May be a little different, for you having 5spd, but here is what Aron had me do.
O/D locked out. Run up to 45mph, or so, to lock the T/C while in 3rd gear (I don't have the switch). Come back down to ~30mph, then, when he said "GO!", hammer down, up to the top speed that was set in the computer. Or 'til your EGT's get to the point where you want to back out.
This was on a Mustang dyno.

the way we dyno with a manual is to slowly shift through the gears until you reach the gear you're going to dyno in... then let the rpms drop to about 1200 and "cruise" there for a bit... when the operator says go, hammer down and let the smoke fly...
