what toy to get nexted

well I am at some what of a stand still at what toy I should get nexted. options being; jacobs brake, smarty, water/meth injection or put money away and save for turbo"ya right put it away ha ha....they will all be on the truck some day. I am kinda leaning toward the exhaust brake for the truck. because shes a big beast that can get going quick stoping power has seemed to be lacking abit, with large trailers. yes I would like the smarty but that would just add more slipping to the clutch thats already on it's way out. the water/meth would help to cool things down abit since the install of the new injector you have to back off a bit with trailer in tow with the comp maxed. and turbo mods abit more than I want to spend right now.

I voted for turbo. It will be just a little more than the Jacobs. If you do the exhaust brake, make sure you get the inline one, so you can use it when you upgrade the turbo.
If you get the turbo, you might not even need the meth.

I see that you all want me to get the smarty so far, but HP and tq are my enimey right now. untill I get the clutch this july. does anyone know if the jacods ex brake will increase my egts. is when it's turned off will it add better flow out of the turbo. just wondering. I think stoping is my concern right now. but i also should have maybe added a fass fuel pump to the mix but that i will do later. now all or the parts in the poll will be on the truck someday in the nexted couple of years. if I work a few more fridays I can get 3 toys this year.

The ex brake will restrict your exhaust a little more compared to now. In my opinion, it will raise EGT's but it will be negligible.
If you tow a bunch, get the ex brake. If not, get the turbo.

I tow a older steel 4 horse gooseneck trailer. with 3-4 horses walking tack room with at least 6 saddle sets. and durring the summer that gets towed every weekend and some times every other thursday. saddle club. I am looking into buying a 25-30+ foot camper. that i will hopefully get to tow more offten than the horse trailer. heck i may even drrop down to a bumper pull horse trailer and double tow. I can be 65 feet total lenght in this state. any one out there have any true numbers of what the jacobs brake does to the egt temp. ???????? even better that that anyone in MN have one??

If it were me, I'd put the clutch at the head of the list and not wait until July. If your EGT's are running high when towing then the turbo probably would be my next choice. Otherwise the exhaust brake should be second. That would push the Smarty down to 4th selection for me.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree with doing the clutch first.......without that in working order all the other "TOYS" are going to be useless.

Ditto! But since not a option... I voted Turbo. It's the same theory as the clutch. No other bombs will be of value w/o more air!

Exclamation

The clutch for sure because driving it without the additional toys added beats the heck out of having it towed in because the clutch took a dump while towing the trailer 150 miles from home! Play it safe change the clutch when you want to instead of when the added toys grenade it.
