My wife let me get a new toy... ZX7R

and it required minimal begging! I have always loved the way the Kawi ZX7R's looked. Its still really cold here so I have not been able to ride it more that 10 min. but I love it. I have had sport bikes before but after I hit a deer with the last one I have been off them for 4 years. I know its older but its really clean, runs like a top and has all the cosmetics done that I would do.

Anyone else have any sport bikes? I have a bike wish list... TL1000 full fairing, RC51, ZX12R, R1 Raven. Maybe next year I can get another one off the list.

I have had BMW for some years now. K1100RS which is a touring bike that in it's day was faster by far in the middle speed range- say 30 to 90 mph - than any bike made at the time. It's an old boat now though so of course I am lusting over the current models.

Love my R1, but I need 2 get 2nd gear fixed (common problem w/ these) But with the touchy 2nd gear, it keeps me safer. Ha Ha Ha 2nd won't hold the front wheel up :-)

Heres a pic of the bike that I hit a deer with after I rebuilt it. It was a 02 ZX6R and I must say was one of the nicest riding bikes I ever had. My very first bike was a Honda Silverwing 500 that I pulled the fairings off of. It had 89k on it when I sold it.... 60k I put on it in 2 years.

I love riding but I have noticed in the last 5 years or so the car drivers have gotten worse about pulling out and cutting over on me. Also getting tail gated scares the crap out of me. It would be nice if the DMV made new drivers go through a motorcycle awareness program or something.

I completely agree with you. People just don't look for bikes

There is a video on youtube of how a guy shakes tailgaters. It works. When they get too close, just shake the bike a little like your gonna wreck. They back right off and stay back.

Does it help their cause when you see so many guys riding like friggin' idiots?

Weaving in and out of traffic, passing between lanes of cars, wheelies on the freeway?

I almost creamed a guy riding a wheelie down the interstate a couple years back. I looked in my blind spot to change lanes and it was clear,a second later a guy doing about 120 riding a wheelie zipped past.

I used to have to ride the highway for about 20mi. one way to work on one of my older bikes. I would keep a pocket full of gravel and 1 time I tossed a hand full over my shoulder onto a hood of a car about 5' off my tail.

The way I see it, if I can just drop the gravel and it hits them, they are WAY too close. It gets their attention real quick

The guys riding wheelies down the highway and weaving around cars gives us sport bike riders a bad name. I hate being looked at as some punk with a death wish.

Hey Nate..... heres something for you to spank over

Nice bikes coolhand. I had the green 98 ZX9R. I'm just glad they didn't have the "you failed" thread back then.
