Thanks Nate. I only have a new undertail, frame sliders, and a windshield. The pilot power tires I run really help going through the mountains.

Nice pics of you carvin' up the twisties! I always loved dragging pegs on back country roads. Just be careful, I had to learn the hard way. I was full bore into a real nice turn when about 3/4 of the way through there was a spot where a farmer brought his tractor across and put mud all over the road. I was just through that turn 10 min. prior to that. Ended up sliding sideways into a ditch and tore myself all up. Thank God there was not a car coming the other way. That incident really took the wind out of my sails!

Sorry to hear that. Even though I had a blast on those roads but the risk is too high, I dont practice that on the roads anymore. I am going to try to enjoy this machine on the track where I have a better chance of living though a crash. I still have yet to visit one, but I am looking forward to getting out there and stretching the R1's legs legally and more safely.

Live and learn, thank God I only had rash and tore up clothing. I want to go to the local track events this year and check it out. There is a group around here called NESBA that has track events where a pro takes you around and shows you proper technique.

It would be pretty cool to pick up a wrecked 600 that needed fairings and make it a track bike.

I ride a 2000 Kawasaki Concours. It's my main mode of transpo when I don't need the truck. I feel for you northern guys. I ride to work year round down here. I don't think I could take putting up the motorcycle for 3 to 4 monthes.

I've got an 08' R6 and love it. I got the Cadmium Yellow w/ black flames bike and it is great. Haven't seen another one like it around at all when riding. And the insurance was dirt cheap. Got buds with Gixxers and one that has an RC51. That by far is the best sport bike I have heard, other than a Ducati. I love it when he gets on that 51 it sounds like a big block. Love riding but like was mentioned above people pay no attention to you. I thought that yellow would stand out and people would see me......boy was I wrong.

I invite anyone who bashes bikers to ride on the road for a year and lay witness to the sheer stupidity of most 4 wheeled vehicles.

So you have ONE story about nearly running a guy over because he was being an idiot? I have a complete alminac (in my head) of the number of incidents where "I" nearly got creamed because someone was talking on the phone, playing with the radio, wanted my spot, never looked over, etc etc.

I had a customer make a flat out rude comment to me as I was leaving work last Friday on my bike. The guy didnt know me from Adam. Nevermind that I am a safe rider who wears full gear and carries all the proper documentation, insurance, and requirements. He hated me because I was on a motorcycle...plain and simple.

Ive got an 07 Kawasaki 650R. Looks like a 4-bangin rocket, but its a twin so its torquey. Before that I had a 500. Im too short for most SS's but I wouldnt mind having the ZZR 600 for touring duty with the little woman. I commute daily and ride rain or shine.

If I had a dollar for every time I have been ran off the road or pulled out in front of I would not be working for a living. You get some person talking on the phone eating a Mc fat burger and they roll a stop sign and dont even see you. Then you have to pray you can miss this dumb ___ and not lay your bike down. I do agree that wheelie's and high speeds and stunts have no business being on public roads and need to be left on the track. But you have THOUSANDS of bikers that obey the laws and alot of us are on sport bikes. I own both so am I any worse for riding my Ninja then I am riding my Roadstar cruisor??

We had a local police officer that had a van pull in front of them and the PO hit the side of the van and the PO had LIGHTS AND SIRENS going. So does that make him wrong!!!

I really like the 636's and have 2 friends that have/had them. One thing I dont like about the new 600 class bikes is they are too short. When I rode a 636 it wheelied WAY too easy. Wheelies translate to headshake and thats the scariest situation you could be in. I just cracked on it a little in 3rd and when I let off the head wobbled a little. I didnt even realize I was carrying the front tire. I would defiantly have a steering stabilizer on a 636, they are amazing.

I know when I ride and someone pulls up to a intersection or gets close I try and make eye contact. If I cant see what they are thinking I get on the brakes. 9 out of 10 times car drivers do stupid stuff when you dont make eye contact. Nearly every day there is a potential crash that needs avoided. Its a scary place out on the road where you are a bug waiting to be squished.
