Question What tourque converter?!?

I just picked up a 95 3500 DRW and the auto is slipping... I got it for cheap enough where I have $500-$800 to spend and what else can I do to the tranny?? shift kit? deep pan? aux cooler? tc?

ANY INFO WILL HELP!!!!

If the auto is slipping you should really pull it and take it apart. In very many cases it is NOT the TC that does slip, (it would be better to say that the TC lockup clutch does slip) but some other clutch in the tranny.
The only time you really feel the slip is when you are in lockup, but this doesn't mean it's the lockup clutch.

Did you pull the pan yet? what does the fluid look like? The crud in the pan can be a very valuable sign on what's wrong in there.

A lot of folks write that they have success with shift kits, but the shift kit will not remedy worn out clutches or old seals that do leak internally .
The rebuild kit with new frictions, plates and seals isn't too expensive. (EG update kit from DTT for 295 US$ including a billet piston) and assures that you start to work on a working tranny.
