The smarty is a great buy They update the ecm and do alot of cool stuff, I'm not sure about the high idle if it does that or not. But you also can stack it with any other box, beware of over timming it if you do.

I love my Smarty! I',m so glad I got one. BTW:Not to hijack the thread or anything but what is the worst that can happen with too much timing. I'm wondering because I want to run Smarty SW1 for fuel mileage but with my comp I would have to turn the box all the way off right? Whats the worst that can happen w/ the box on 3? I've just noticed some bucking but I don't want to mess anything up.

Correct me if i'm wrong but with a timing box like the Comp you should only run the Smarty on even numbers for fueling.
I used GB5.9's Smarty for about 2 weeks and after i gave it back to him my truck feels like stock even on 5x5. I gotta get one as soon as i get a tranny.

IF you run a box that adds timming then dont add timming with the smarty, you can run to #8 and make good power but #9 on the smarty and a comp box on #5 shows a drop in power on the dyno. I have done this on many trucks and the y dont feel any slower with the smarty on #9 but the dyno's dont lie. Marco told us it was too much timming that was causeing are power drop on the big settings. I haven't herd of any damage from running both the chip and the smarty on max though, just unhappy VP44's.

I'm not talking about running the Smarty on odd's all the time. Just for fuel saver mode. I run the Smarty on evens all other times.

No that should be just fine I dont think the smarty adds timming in the fuel saver level.

i thought the smarty uses very advanced timing in the fuel saver. i believe the manual says not to tow with it because of the advanced timing, of course i could be wrong, i just thought i read that.

Yes, the Smarty paperwork very clearly states the fuel saver mode has highly advanced timing and not to tow with it. If you are running another fueler box that adds timing, you are possibly hurting your power, and fuel economy.

Sorry for the confusion you are 100% right fuel saver is very advanced timming. I wouldn't recommend that with a timming box stack, thats too much timming. But the upper setting that dont add timming work very well stacked.

So from what it says on their website.... you can recalibrate your computer to adjust for bigger tire size? If so does that correct the speedo?
