What are the odds of destroying my trans?

I have a 02 2500 with a afe stage 2, and banks monster exhaust. I am thinking about putting an edge ez on my truck. My auto has 43000 miles on it now will the edge make it slip???? I tow a 4000 lb lawn trailer a couple times a week mainly around town at speed less than 45.

depends what kinda driver you are...ive heard of plenty of people driving around stock with an EZ for 100 000 miles but ive hear some frying their tranny riding around stock( no ez) in less than 30 000 miles

my opinion ois always..if u dotn have the money to get an unexpected new tranny then dont do it...if u do then by all means and then get a rebuild for an extra grand from one of the good shops offered here

should be ok. Mine lasted 100,000 km of towing with the edge on 4 before I finally destroyed my tranny. And that was under far more severe conditions than you're planning.

Remind me never to make you mad.....You could eat me, and then have a meal. You're huge! Nice truck though.

As for the truck, Lrdchaos, If you are nice, the tranny will (usually) be nice too. I have railed on mine w/ the comp on 5x5 for about 2 months now, and it's gonna go, but I have no doubt that if I left it on even 5x5 and was respectful of it, it'd last for quite a while. I'm just ready for a new tranny, turbo and injectors, so I figured lets see what we can break first!!!!!

I think a lot of it depends on the clearances in the actual parts that were used at assembly (obviously some fit tighter than others and probably have less internal leakages). Mine started to let go at 1,000 miles and was replaced at 10,000 miles - limp mode starts, holding gears, not shifting to OD, etc... And it wasn't driven hard at all. Finally that replacement started to slip the TC at 35,000 miles. I went with a new TC/shift kit and then the bombing began. So far another 40k has been put on it and it's holding together pretty good. Basically some stockers hold together and some don't when bombed - it all depends on how lucky you are...

Should hold, a valve body will help it last longer and you will love how much better it drives.
