what are the must have gauges?

i know the pyro is #1. what about boost and other gauges? also what are good brands?

Well, you're gonna want a tachometer, and you have an 1989, so it's gonna have to be a fancy alternator-pick-up model.

Automatic tranny that tows wants a gauge, otherwise not required.

You're gonna want a boost gauge, because it's fun.

Fuel pressure gauge is a good idea.

I like Autometer gauges best. Because they're what I got.

U forgot the most important one

The pyrometer.... if your gonna add more fuel to the fire, you will eventually need one, i personally see it more needed than boost...

thanks begle. ive read your posts in the first gen. forums. the truck im referring to is my newly aquired 2001. but your advice still applies as i still use the new truck in the same fashion as my 1st gen.

Number one is fuel pressure, then pyro, trans temp, and boost.

It depends on what year your talking about....for the 01, definitely the most important guage would be fuel pressure. A Pyrometer, boost guage, and tranny temperature guage are pretty much must haves as well.

As for brands, Isspro EV series, DiPricol Optix, and Stewart Warner performance guages are my favorites.
