Hey just wondering if I could use any other type of oil from the garage to oil a cone filter such as an AFE or K&N. This is for my other car, a gasser... I'll buy the K&N filter re-charger kit if I have to, but the whole intake cost me only $25 with the filter! Not worth it to buy a 12 oz. bottle of K&N filter oil for $20 in my opinion...

 

AFE and K&N claim to use different oils.
I would only use the the oil the filter maker recommends.

 

If it isn't worth $20.00 to keep the dirt out of your engine, why waste the $25.00 on the whole intake in the first place?

Use the right type of oil, or just run it without a filter altogether....that way at least you won't be surprised when it starts burning oil and the engine quits on it.
