what kind of guages
I want to put some guages in my truck before I install the programmer in my truck to get a base line to see what i get for boost and what the egt temps run at wwhen my truck is stock. Are meckanical guages the way to go. I amthinking about Autometer guages. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Got the new rims on my truck will send picture tommorrow.
Demon,
I prefer guages made specifically for diesel applications -Isspro or DiPricol. Stewart Warner also has a new line of very nice looking guages:

If you want Autometers - you can get them at Mopac Racing in Edmonton. BTW, Autometer does NOT sell a mechanical fuel pressure guage.

I've got 5 ISSPRO gauges in my truck. Mechanical boost and fuel pressure, electrical trans temp, EGT, and oil pressure. I've gone through autometer and dakota digital gauges on my truck and finally settled on these. Personally, I wouldn't have anything other than mechanical if I could help it. Accurate, fast responding, and you don't have to worry about the senders going out on them. I'm debating changing my oil pressure gauge out to a mechanical one just so I don't have to worry about a sender going out.
Diesel Demon,
Depends on you and the "look" you're after. The Auto Meters are the most snazzy gauges depending on which of their many lines you select. If you want something that looks stock their Z series is very close. The new DiPricol's have 100% LED lighting and the pyro is now a stepper motor pyro, similiar to the Auto Meter C2, Cobalt and Nexus pryo movements. They are a little more than they used to be, but accuracy and response time is top flight! They even have a complete installation wiring harness that even has dimmer circuits per gauge so you can trim the LED brightness per gauge and to match your dash light levels. The Isspro is the one folks have been using the most especially in Dodges as the appearance is very very close to stock. What you have to do is get on a site like ours that has all the pics of the different ones and see what you like the look of and go from there. AM, DI or Isspro all will be quality and do what you're after.
