I always find getting to 4 out of 6 is just about right. I can sling a pretty nice roster tail wheels spin right about 45-50 mph almost on the redline.

Shifting gears with a manual while in a mud hole is not good if it's deep and sticky... your asking for trouble... Giving the FORD owner and chance to pull you out... When you go to shift... all wheel speed and momentum will be instantly be lost...leaving you stranded in the middle...and then you try to grab the next higher gear... and the engine will bogg if it don't have a massive amount of power to get the wheels going again which puts an extreme load on the drivetrain... clutch burning and u-joint popping material... unless all those parts are beefed up also. You need to pick one gear... keep the pedal down... and don't stop. As another said... wheel speed and momentum is key!!!
