What gauges do I need?
I've already got the Autometer UltraLite Pyro gauge. Now I'm thinking of also ordering a Boost gauge and Fuel Pressure gauge to match and stuff in a 3-gauge A-pillar pod. My question is, which Boost and FP guage should I get?
Boost: Should I get the 0-35 psi or the 0-60 psi gauge?
FP: Should I get the 0-15 psi or the 0-100 psi gauge?
Keep in mind that I'll be sticking with the Autometer Ultra-Lites since that is what my pyro gauge is and I'm also planning to run mechanical gauges for consideration of price and reliability/simpicity factor.
Also, since I'm completely new to diesel mods, I eventually plan on adding some power enhancing features down the road. I'm current absorbing knowledge from this forum but I am considering an Edge Comp with injectors and a Scotty II intake as my next step. Assume this might also affect which gauge I might consider picking up now given that wastegate mods might be unavoidable in the future.

If you do go w/ a Comp, make sure not to pierce the wire until you upgrade your clutch. Thats what I'm gonna do here in the near future also. Good luck.

One more question, do I need the FP guage with the isolator to run this mechanical guage inside to the A-pillar? I did a search and find conflicting opinions on this.

Isolater or Not?
Jolleyman,
Auto Meter has both styles of fuel pressure gauges, they have an electric one that doesn't require a isolater etc and also a mechanical one that does. A lot of folks don't run an isolater on a mechanical gauge, but raw diesel fuel in the interior is a real smelly and potentially flammable problem so I would not do that and Auto Meter says not to as well. We have sold a lot of both and the opinion about which is better is pretty much split etc. Call us if you need any info we are a direct distributor with Auto Meter and will be glad to help you.
