Question Well Its Done!

After watching my lift pump suffer for a month of idling @ 12psi and running down the road around 5-6psi she has dropped to now idling @ 9psi and 3-4psi running down the road. So the new lift pump and fuel filter will be shipped out Monday. Are there any surprises I should look out for while installing or is it as pretty much strait forward as it looks?

What type of pump did you get?
If you are replacing the stock LP if you remove the filter canister it makes it a lot easier to get at the LP.
Or if i was you i would mount it on the frame back by the tank and run a new line up to the filter.

for now I am goin to just put it back on the stock spot. But after the first of the year I plan on moving the new lift pump back to the frame with the vulcan relo kit.

The Bully dog fuel management system is cheap @ JEGS. I love it and half the cost of the FASS

the only trouble I've had when swapping pumps is the rubber hose that goes from the pump to the filter canister, on the last 2 I've done I had to put regular hose clamps on both ends & throw away the factory squeeze type clamps that were there, so you may wanna grap a couple of hose clamps just in case, Dusty

Now after hearing the new pump hum and how nice it sounds remember the grinding kind of hissing sound my old pump made LOL

When you least expect it, after you cruise along thinking everything's fine, since you installed that nice new shiney OEM lift pump, the pump will take a dump on you!

Upgrade to a Walbro or a FASS ASAP! I learned my lesson the hard way!

I see you plan on a big line upgrade at the first of the year. I'd make that a project for an aftermarket LP upgrade too!
