Which VP44?
Which VP44?
Hey guys, it's been a good while since I've been on here, I got transferred from MD to a unit in Phoenix which has been deployed. Long story short, I have leave coming up and will be home for a week. I left my truck with the classic signs of a failed VP44 (white smoke and dead pedal) and I want to have all the right parts waiting for me when i get home. So my question is, if I were to get a hotrod VP44, which one is most reliable?
Thanks for any info!

i thought i wanted to go with a hrvp when mine went out, but if you go with the regular one, youll be able to do more with it as far as the performance side goes, at least thats what ive heard from alot of guys say on here. if you do it yourself, its not a hard install fyi.
I installed a Blue Chip VP-44 and have been very satisfied. It's the direct replacement so the standard lift pump's working fine. I then installed a Quadzilla XZT+ and love the additional 65-70 hp. Blue Chip costs a bit more but has all new computer parts and a steel bushing for reducing wear. I also run 2-cycle oil for the additional lubrication the new ULS diesel lacks; good for the pump's longevity and increased mileage too.
Cheers.
Cheers.
