VP Gone? HRVP Time?!

Yesterday I noticed my engine surging real hard when I would come out of a gear to stop. It did it so much I even put out puffs of black smoke. It only does it when it's hot outside. I have also noticed my starting problem getting progessivley worse. It's now to the point that parking down hill or bumping the starter to get the lift pump to run doesn't help none. I can kill it a McDonalds drive thru and try to start it 10 seconds later and it take forever to start. I think the VP is on it's way out, it may have a cracked diaphram or something. My fuel pressure is 13-14psi at idle and 8 psi WOT with a new relocated lift pump. What do yall think? HRVP time???? Thanks yall

Eric

definetly the HRVP is the way to go. i have one on my truck and let me tell you what. i mean you wont feel like a 100hp difference but man you can sure tell it puts out more fuel. havent had one prob with it yet and with the pusher pump i run 26 at WOT and 34 at idle. you will love it.

I love the HRVP...but mine is off of the truck right now because of a miss at idle. It was under warranty and I am supposed to get it back tomorrow. I will let you know if I still "love" my HRVP

just call peirs and talk to them about the HRVP. they will tell you everything you need to know about how they update the computer that sits ontop of the unit as well as internals. just because its called a HOT ROD VP doesnt mean its going to give you a 100 hp, like i also said i can definetly feel a big difference but its not a differece like having stock injectors and going to.....lets say mach 4s or 5s. like i said, i can definely feel more power with more fuel and i absolutely love it. and its not much more than a stocker.

Industrial says 70-100 hp increase on their hrvp's. The price difference is around what folks would pay for a box that provided this much fuel. When I bought mine the difference was around $400.

I'm running a drag comp already, would I still see some noticeable hp gain with the drag? Thanks

Since it gives more fuel regardless of a box or not, I'm gonna say yes it be even more of an improvement with a box. If mine goes, I'm going HRVP.

I've been very pleased with my II HR-VP.
Idles well, pulls smoothly.
Running my Comp in EZ mode still on 5X5.

Now that warm weather is here...any reports on HRVP smoke with bigger injectors?
With Mach 4's and an Auto, I did not go with HRVP...wanting to keep all other added fuel "adjustable".... for smoke control/
Was I overly cautious??
