VP 44 Failure????

VP 44 Failure????
My Uncles truck, 2000 3500 Ext Cab 5spd, 4x4 180,000mi, is at the dealer right now with an "injection pump timing failure" code. It did the same thing at 130,000mi.
He told me to find him a pump, or find him a new engine to turn the pump
. Basically no mods, except for 40hp injectors.
This last VP 44 was put in the truck in March of 03.
The dealer is saying $1500.
Where can I find a "good"
VP, if they ever made one.

PS, Thanks God My truck is properly built, all mechanical like.
