Hydraulic Pump Failure?

Was driving across I-80 in PA (450 miles on truck) when I noticed the steering get VERY heavy. I signalled, began pulling over and then lost break assist. Upon inspection I found that the clamps were never correctly installed on the 2 hydraulic lines going into the cooler, and one line had completely fallen off effectively draining all of my power steering fluid.

I was on a pretty dangerous section of road (no shoulder) so I decided to drive to the next exit. Found some fluid, refilled and everything seems fine know.

My question is: Would driving around 5-10 miles with the system empty damage to pump or any other components?
Re:Hydraulic Pump Failure?

Should not damage it. Usually if a powersteering pump starts to die it will whine loudly. Bring it to the dealers attention, so it is noted on the work order if a future failure does occur. Sometimes takes time to get the air outa the system, pump will be loud for a bit. Clamps shoulda been picked up on the PDI.
