A very key FASS priming tip

this will save you a half over of bumping the starter and suicidal tendencies, of not gettin a prime.
what you need,
1. a friend to bump the starter
2.a 2 foot peice of aquarium tubing 1/4'' od i think
3.strong cheeks

Fill the fuel filter and water separator up with fuel. Crawl up under the truck, sitting up with your head above the driveshaft, flare the tubing out with a needle nose pliers. stick the tubing on the breather in the top on the tank.( mine didnt have a tube comin off of it, i dunno if other have it on.) Push tubing on breather outlet, blow some air into the tank by forcing the air in with your cheeks, not your lungs... you'll pass out if so. Have your friend bump the starter while your doin this. I had fuel shootin out on first try. (Remember to crack the supply tube at the injector pump.) I came to this solution after 20 minutes of bumping the starter..

P.s - Im sure you could rig something up to an air compressor, just dont blow up the tank.

I used a loose fitting rag with the air compressor blow gun. This was until I figured out that if you're trying that hard, SOMETHING IS WRONG!!! For me it was the quick connect fitting on the top of the tank. Once I replaced the fitting with a regular hose clamp, I bumped the starter, the FASS sputtered, filled its filters and then there was a gusher of fuel up at the VP. What I learned? Double check to make sure air isn't getting into the system before the FASS if it doesn't prime itself. Not meant to be a bash, just what I learned.

ok hmm well, the prob i could see is that my supply line is a hair short and has a semi kink in it, it will be replaced soon. I wont be driving til may anyways.(run in with the law last year). even with the semi kink, steady 18 but maybe it could be more, also had below a 1/4 tank of fuel all, possible factors but ill give it a look over......no offense taken brother.

ps- cant wait til irp

Just filling both filters (on the third try) with diesel solved the problem for me!
