Twins???
Twins???
Can anyone give me some input on where I should currently be (ballpark) HP and Torque wise? I will put it on a dyno soon, but I just did all of the work on this truck in the past week. Should my next step for power gains be twins? I don't really pull anything except an occasional 10K trailer. I sure wish I had got wind of this website sooner, cause it looks like I may have made a couple of wrong choices. ie Superchip and possibly the HX40
I would change out the superchip and torque enhancer and get an Edge Drag Comp box.
The Hx40 is a good turbo and will net you good power up to 500hp in some cases.
But, if you want more power from a single I would look into some sort of schwitzer modified...
Like the B1, HTB2 etc.

I would guess with 90rwhp injectors running a HX-40 you should be in the low 400 ballpark, if you run the comp box. There lots of variables here. I've run the 90rwhp injectors from BD and the HY35 turbo and put 380 rwhp to the ground. If you run the super chip, you would hate the truck with HX-40 turbo. The turbo would be laggy, and towing would be brutal. My suggestion is to run the comp box with a MAD ecm, 90-125rwhp edm injectors and a turbo as Pourindiesel listed. Yes this is more money, but way more smiles to the dollar. With these parts you should be 450-475 rwhp range and have tons of torque.
When you tow your 10k trailer, back the comp box down to the lower power levels if you live in the mountains. This will reduce egt levels and coolant temps. I've towed 10k and kicked lots of butt in the mountains. On flat land run max power level, as this helps when you pass slow moving cars. Welcome to the bombing bug buddy. You can make tons of power and run the truck hard day in day out, year round. Fuel mileage will be as good or better than stock levels.

If your thinking twins I would give J.R Adkins a call 317 281 3130 he has done many different setups and know what works and what is just a waste of time and money. plus he can get you the best turbo for the lowest money around. got a chance to go to his shop and see some of his work first hand. top notch turbo artist
