Is the Turnbuckle the ONLY way?

a buddy of mine looked under my hood and saw my turnbuckle boost fooler and he was commenting that it looked like crap and said that instead of that, i should take the line off and plug it. then i remarked that the line on my turbo is a hard line and i can't do that, unlike the 1st generations and/or 12Vs (which he is more familiar with) so then we got into this big argument and yada yada blah blah blah.

so is the turnbuckle the only way to do it, all products available for sale on the market aside please.

I'd say if its workin fine, dont worry about it. Unless you think it looks like crap too. No one hardly ever sees under the hood anyway, unless youre plannin on showing it or something.

Yeah that is pretty much the only option for our stinkin turbos!!! The HX35 guys have it so much easier where they can throw on the boost elbow or just thread in a plug...........not the case for us. I'd tell your friend to shut it!!

you can also plug the line with a 22 shell and drill a small bleed hole in the line

OK, I've just searched this out and need to know what side of the hose to drill the bleed hole on. I would guess the actuator side but am not sure. I have about 21# of boost right now/stock. thanks, bruce

If you are talking about your 98, you have an HX35 stock. The J-hook/turnbuckle is for the HY35 turbos. The HX's (atleast the 24v) have a brass elbow to a rubber line to the actuator. You can just get a different elbow with an orifice in it to raise the boost limit. I'm not familiar with the 12v's, but I'd imagine it would be the same as the 24v's.
