i was considering the turnbuckle method to increase boost, but had a thought. (doesnt happen much) couldn't i just throw a couple pound spring on the wastegate to increase the amount of pressure it takes to open it?

Yes you can. Takes a healthy spring to do it tho.

I got mine at Home Depot. Shortest, strongest spring I could find. You might want to look at the turbo master as well. They were not around when I did the spring and wire wastegate fix on my old HY35.

i would like to do the turbo master, but i want something thats easy to remove for trips to the *******. i've had to take my truck in 4 times in the last 3 months, which seems kindof excessive, but each time i had to remove the mods i've made.

I have a spring or two left from when Stakeman sent me a couple........if you want its yours(pm me your address). Just get some wire and your set, need to goto the dealer, snip the wire and off you go. You'll get about 29 to 30psi of boost with the spring as long as you have the wire pretty tight.

This may be a dumb question but.....When installing a turnbuckle or a spring, does the turbo need to removed?

Nope, you can reach underneath it pretty easy. I always make sure that the engine has sat for awhile to cool and then only takes a minute or two to install or remove turnbuckle.

I know this topic has been up before, but does anyone have pics of the spring/wire combo?

Re:could i use a spring instead of a turnbuckle to increase boost?

Guys,
I have 2 spring assembly's that were sent to me when I got a TST pm3 for myself and another friend. Whoever wants them they're yours. Just PM me your information and I'll send one to you. They are just taking up space in my truck box.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!! Don't do what I did and try and do it after a 30 mintue drive. That turbo will leave a nice burn on your arm.
