Turbo help...

I was under the impression that my 95 club cab dually had the hx35... It reads WH1C, does this mean it will not hold up like a hx35 or is it the same thing...

Here is the pic of it right after I removed the silencer ring. (yay, whistle!!)

The fins will not hit the sides of the housing but looks like something did at one time...

The WH1C is essentially the same as the HX35; the main difference is that the compressor housing is clamped onto the center section on the WH1C, whereas it's held by a snap ring on the HX35.

Yes, upgrading the compressor with an HTT kit will get you a WH1C/E hybrid, which is almost the same as a 35/40 hybrid.

However, turbo choice should be based on what your eventual HP goal is. The hybrids are better than stock, but they only suit a certain HP level. If you're going for 350+ hp, your money would probably be better spent on an S300 based turbo.

That is what my shop guy runs on his "fun" truck.

marine 370's, s300, 4" straight, timing, 3gsk not sure if he has dv's...

350 rear wheel horsies is all I'm after (right now) It is my power on a budget but still able to tow backhoes, hay, horses or what ever else needs to be towed. Winter is coming though so tons of ppl getting stuck, good thing I love "helping people"

I pondered these same things back a year or so and believe me this stuff is very addictive! Go with the s300 based turbo you won't be sorry. If you are on a budget and want injecters give Pensicola Diesel a shot they have a set of stage one and stage two's that are very reasonable and make good power! Don't forget about the 3k gov springs they are a must along with a better air intake and exhaust. Yes it does add up but it will make a big truck feel like a sports car!!
