Turbo combination

Has anyone tried a 14cm2 exhaust housing and a 56mm compressor on an HC1 first gen?

The 14cm2 housing will result in too high EGT with the POD's. I would think something more along the line of Piers' PDR HX35 on an ATS exhaust manifold would move the air you need and not result in overheating.

My setup is working well (temps below 1200) until I hit 35 psi and the wastegate opens. Then temps begin to climb. This leads me to believe I need more air, not more exhaust flow. My next step will be a bigger compressor section, not a larger turbine housing. I have the 58 mm pinwheel.

I have to disagree with RCW. The 14cm will work fine with pod's. I ran a 12cm housing for years with POD's and had no problems with heat. Like most things, it can be controlled with your right foot. I think the main reason that more people dont run the 14cm is because they are too dang expensive. I would upgrade to a hx35 instead of changing the compressor wheel in the H1C. Thats just my 2 cents though...
