TST Help - Controller shows all 8s

A while back I picked up a used TST PM3 off of a member here. I finally got the chance to put it on over the weekend. After getting everything installed I took the truck for a drive and everything worked fine. I was very happy with it. I ran an errand and got back in the truck to find it was no longer working. The R45 contoller had all 8s on it and the green fuel LED was lit. I figured it was a loose connection so I checked them all, but still nothing. On my way to work yesterday it started working all of a sudden. Got to work, turned the truck off and it has not worked since....Im lost.

I have checked the connections and fuses. Its obviously getting 12v power because it lights up. The ground, 12V power and pump are all connected with posi-taps. The Map connecter is new from TST.

On the box itself the yellow boost light stays on. Is this normal?

Any Ideas?

The yellow light is normal. I would give TST a call.

Where is it grounded, on the 2001s-02s TST says ground it in the VP harness, give it a try.

It's the pump wire or the inline fuse. Replace the connector with a posi-tap from wal-mart or a local parts store and check the inline fuse.

It's magical 88 level. It gives you eleventy billion horsepower.

Sorry. I had to. It sounds like a loose connection in the harness somewhere. Ditch the posi taps and solder the wires on. I soldered mine from the beginning and haven't had an issue. I don't like those posi taps. Never had good luck with getting good penetration with them.

Are you thinking of these posi-taps or the old junky fold over and lock line tap junk. I've been using these since they were invented and have never had a problem with any of their products. I've used them on everything from motorcycles to 9 second race cars.

I love posi-lock wire taps. The old scotch locks are junk.

Yellow light is normal... it tells you that the box is connected to the MAP sensor.

The green light should not glow brightly until the unit really starts to fuel...

Have you checked your voltage at the pump connection in the wiring harness??

It sounds like the harness isn't quite making a positive connection with the pump wire at all times...

I soldered all of my connections as well... then used liquid electrical tape to seal them up.

Thanks for the replys. After playing around with the wires tonight I got the box working, but the controller is still showing all 8s. I am sure the box is working because the green fuel LED gets brighter and my EGTs go through the roof. Problem now is I cant adjust the box, I dont even know what level its on.
