I just 100 plated my 96 and it pulls allrigt to 2200 thin falls on its face.
It revs to 2500 and stays there for about 2 secs before it shifts. I dont get it.

You need some 3k GSK (3000 rpm governor spring kit). The will allow it to rev freely to 3000 RPMs. They also make a 4k GSK.

in an auto you can get away with the 4kgsk with no valve springs. The tranny will shift way before you hit 4000rpm. Unless you polan on making them squireels run that fast all the time.

Im not real excited about 4k rpm on my truck, scares me)

I thank im going to do the 3k washer mod. Im still searching for some good pics to under stand it a little more before i tear in to it.

My other problem is that it takes forever to shift, it just hangs out @ 2500 rpm would the 3k make it shift like normal

what i ment was if im wide open throttle, It takes forever to shift,
If i stomp it and let her wind up to aabout 2300 and let off it for a split sec. and stomp it again i can get it to shift like that. If not it literly takes like 2-3 secs for the ***** to shift.

it will allow you to rev out the truck My 96 did the same thing and with the 3kgsk i found it helped trmendously. Noi have a lot of workdone to the truck and i have zero complaints except the converter slips and the trany shutters a litle.
