Transmission Comparison

Just wondering how much difference there is in a transmission with just a transgo shift kit and in a fully built trans from Goerend.
Also how do the transmissions from BD, ATS, and DTT compare.
Wondering witch dose a better job of towing I dont race or sled pull with the truck. My current trans with the shift kit just dosen't put the power to the ground like I thank it should. But I dont know if theas other tranys are any better or if their worth the money. any advice or knowledge would be helpful.

THANKS

I did the transgo kit, but kept taking it out to tweek it. I feel, if you can afford it, you should just buy it ready to go. If you have time and understand the VB, then do the kit. Get a trans pressure gauge too.

Full built trannys are better because they are set up to use the added line pressure from the shift kit. And all shift kits are not equal. That trans go kit you bought is a far cry from what Goerand and many others do to a VB. There are many things to take into consideration. To give you an idea:

All new seals that have been updated for more pressure.
Clutch packs set at better clearances, with better clutches and steals.
Stronger and tighter TC.
Case prepped to prevent high pressure leaks.
New 2nd gear band, and properly adjusted.
New, updated servos and seals.
New gov. soliniod, and speed sensor.
A fresh new tranny with clean fluid, ready to take a beating, with a warranty.
Some companies even put on an external filter and Mag pan. Thats a big plus.

At least add a torque converter to your current setup. That'll make a big difference there. Obviously you can't beat a fully built tranny.

DAY and NIGHT, get a built transmission for DAVE GOEREND. You'll never be happier. Daves customer service is SECOND to NONE. Thanks Steve B.
