Hey y'all,
I seen alot of posts on dead trannies, but not much on protecting them. Y'all told me a VB and Torque converter, but is that enough/all? I've seen tranny coolers, bigger pans, all sorts of stuff for auto's. If I plan on hitting 350+HP, I want to make sure Im not gonna hurt my truck doing it. I love my truck, I mean love. If I had met my truck before my wife, Id be raising baby cummins right now instead of a daughter. Is this gonna be enough to keep the tranny safe? I dont have 3Gs sitting around to get a new tranny.
Thanks Y'all.

the VB and TC are just band aids, i have them! But for the power you're planning on start saving for a tranny. The stock 47re is not gonna handle that power for long. Why baby it when you have all that power. I try to avoid using 5x5 cuase i know the tranny won't take it for long.
I'd advise getting a Trans temp. gauge.... along w/ a vb and tc...
TC are commen for going on, not just on diesel jobs, but on nearly every chrysler product lol... no offense.
Anyways, a good TC, and VB, watch your temp.. and deff. put a cooler on...
Reguardless if you're towing or not I would recommend a cooler... Keeping these transmissions cool are half the reason on why they melt down.
If you got steel planetaries.... a TC, and a VB aint too much more you can get unless you get billet shafts... n soforth...
