trans. temp gauge
#2
Hello
Most people either get a tranny pan with the port included to hook up their sender, or use the hot line with a port included (available from Mass Diesel) or Dodge (The part number at the Dodge dealer is CH05011244AA). The factory sensor does not need touched.

You can pull the factory sensor out, and jump across it with a certain sized resistor, to make everything work right still. If you dont jump a resistor across it, you will lose overdrive, and TC lockup; as the fluid has to be showing warm enough for it to let o/d and tc lockup to happen. If someone would please chime in with the right sized resistor i would appreciate it, as i believe i might buy a tranny temp gauge soon too. Also, what is about the hottest you should let your tranny get while hauling a load? Ive heard around 200? Thanks
