Well finally am experiencing some Transmission symptoms. Well at least that is what I believe they are. 91K miles, Edge comp on five by five, no wire and getting a strong shudder while accellerating uphill in OD. Back out and it stops. Dealer says no problems found but reflashed based on a Tech Service Bulletin. Helped some but still getting the same shudder. Dealer is not sure the trans is covered by the diesel wrap I purchased.

Been waiting for the "excuse" to drop a few big ones and get the DTT trans, gages, bigger sticks and turbo. Am I there?

 

I was feeling a shudder in 5th gear and it turned out that my u-joints were bad. They never squeeked or anything, just a little shudder in 5th. Something to check, but it probably is the trans. Someone will chime in with more auto trans experience.

 

Sounds like it to me but can't be sure without driving it. Take it to Bill/Stephen...if not to far. They'll know in a quick test drive.

If your going to do it anyway...sooner is better...and possibly cheaper, before things get torn up. And, once you've done it...you'll wish you had much sooner. It's a night & day difference. Like having a whole new truck! Strongly suggest 89% (cattle hauler) tranny...no matter how much power you intend to add....much smoother. JMO.

Time to stop taking mileage and start taking write-offs?
