Trans Problem
Here is my problem:
I was pulling my truck at a local pull and the trans temp in the case got to 230 deg. Truck did not want to take off to leave the track. Let it cool down over night and now it still doesnt want to move but if you force it it will. In 2wd in drive you need to build almost 20 psi to get it to go. The shifter feels like its binding when you try to pull into gear and when you go to reverse and then to neutral it takes about 2 seconds for the trans to get to neutral. If you pull down to low 1 it will not move at all almost like it has a trans brake. You can build over 30 psi and still nothing moving. No noises when I was pulling or even now. Fluid smells ok and is still red with no signs of metal. When I was pulling it felt like it lost half power and then came back but it was not the motor that lost power - stayed between 2800-3000 rpm. Watched it on video and tires slowed down and never came back up to speed like they were at before it lost power.
Have not pulled pan yet but any ideas on what it could be???? I called Dave about it as soon as it happened because I have one of his converters and he didnt tell me anything except to let it cool down and see what happens then. I tryed to call back but keep leaving messages on machine....

Not trying to be an jerk but if your trans is all stock except for the converter you werent to smart for pulling with it. With the comp smarty and injectors your way beond the limmits of the trans for just driving with it.
On the other hand id say if your still building boost but the truck wont move that not good. Does it idle normal or does it seem like there is more load on the engine whe in gear? I think your problem will be in trans not your converter. When i busted my second trans(one of daves) it would stall when i put it in gear unless i hit the throttle just right. All my clutch packs came apart and was binding it up. Dave will help you out greatly tho. Some times hes hard to get ahold of but He has the best customer service i have ever dealt with.
