Tranny help.

Ok, Have a Question here and hopefully the outcome is not going to be bad..!

when my truck is cold and i start to drive it has a hard time finding second gear at a low speed, it shifts back and forth threw first and second then finaly engages into second.. then the rest are good. Now, when i tranny is warm it seams to shifts ok.
Fuild is a little dark but not too bad by the look of it..
any sugjestions.?

Filter dirty.?
iam outta options..?

How cold is it? The fluid needs to get warmed up when its realy cold, freezeing type weather.

0 - 10C? Yeah, that's a LITTLE chilly; You might do a fluid / filter swap, and give it at least 30-45 sec. warm-up time in neutral.....

Mine would take awhile to go in lock up in freezeing weather in the morening. They are supposed to do that until it gets warmed up. But no problem shifting to second. Sounds like your valve in your v/b is sticking.

Id change the oil , and probably go through the V/B. Check your pan for debree and metal. If you have metal stuck in your V/B eventualy your trans is gonna fry completely.
