tranny cooler for a standard?
tranny cooler for a standard?
Has anyone made a tranny cooler for a standard transmission? I can get a cooler of some sort i'm sure but I'm not sure what pump to use to pump the fluid. Haven't really looked much into the pump side of it yet thought i'd ask here first. The reason i want to make a cooler is becuase i only got a summer on my new trans fluid. I put new oil in the trans in early spring when i did the clutch, come fall when i went to put a southbend in the oil was very grey and looked like it was broken down. So i Tore into the tanny found a worn syncro and a worn shift fork, so i replaced them. But i think some of the loads i hauled in summer overheated the fluid.
the only kind i know about is the fast coolers that bolt on the side of the tranny, where the PTO covers are. it just sticks out and has fins on it for the air to go over it and help cool, also increases fluid capacity.
