Throttle Position Sensor Replacement

After reading Ridesamule's innovation for replacing the TPS with a potentiometer, I decided to try it myself.
Does anyone know anything about this as I got the info from anougher web sight and dont have a membership there. From what I can gather this will or can result in a extended shift in my 95 from 3 to 4 gear. I would like to have a shift that is close to 52 or 55 instead of 45 like my truck does. I have tried sloting and other things but no luck. Thank for any help Jim
