I am getting ready to set my timing and was trying to decide where to set it. I am debating on some where between 16.5 and 17.5. Any recomendations and imput would be helpful

I ran 18* on my truck for a long time and it ran really well. started good in the winter still got good MPG and would run 3500 rpms easy. I never blew a HG or anything. I like timing I would run 20* but many would say not to on a stock HG because of blowing a HG but I like to see what my truck will do. A lot of guys said that anything over 30* with o-rings and no studs would blow my HG but I have ran 38 with 60 psi of boost and not blown one with stock head bolts. but starting in the winter does not happed very easy lol.
