Timing Box Connection

I have a Van Aaken V5 that plugs into the MAP sensor
and the diagnostic plug on the engine. Sometimes it seems
like the timing and fueling part of the box isn't working. It comes
and goes. Sometimes when I start it and drive the engine is
quieter and has less throttle reponse , like before the box , then
later the same day the power is back. I'm thinking the connection
to the diagnostic plug is not good, because I get 30 psi and don't
get an overboost code , so the MAP connectors must be working.
I'm going to unplug the diagnostic plug and use some dielectric grease
on the connection and replug it in. My question is how to apply the
dielectric grease to the connectors for best effect. Also with the box running
good and my RV275 injectors I still can't get any smoke , but it does run good

if the box has a plug for the map sensor then it has a boost foller built in so you wont see a code, which is good.have you contacted vanaaken?they respond pretty fast,go to the u.s.website,the international one is not as good, they may have upgraded since ive been there.the boost is a good way of telling if the box is working.without the box, before my injectors i could only get 20 psi and that was hard.with the box it climbed way faster and went up to 26psi.hope you get it figured out,did you buy it from a dealer?ive heard that some boxes that were made for a certain year and installed on other years did wierd things.

also on the van aaken boxes{maybe others to}they dont add fuel till theres boost present so you dont get any smoke.amazing what computers can do.i dont think the van aaken is adjustable inside it,if it is you may be able to move jumpers around and get it to fuel at low boost, then it mite smoke,if not try some bigger injectors, yahooooooo

I was told by the dealer I bought it from that there is
no difference betwwen the SO box and the HO box.
The Van Aaken must not add fuel until there is
enough boost because even when the box is running
great I never get any smoke. I'm just going to go back
and check all my connections. I'm assuming that with
most electronic boxes they either work or don't work
but no in between.Thats why I think its just a bad
connection on the diagnostic plug where the timing and
fueling changes take place. Would I still be able to get
the 30 psi boost that I'm getting ,without the additional
fueling from the box ? I have RV275 injectors.

Clean the connectors reall good, then slather some dialectric grease on them then reconnect.

The grease will keep water from getting in and re-corroding the connections.

Dialectric grease is available at most auto part stores.
