timing

i read alot of sigs where guys are advancing their timing to 15*. what is the gain from doing this? im basically still stock.........see sig. thanks guys, scott

From what I understand bringing it up to 15 or 16 degrees will improve your fuel economy, reduce EGT's, and reduce smoke. Any more advance on a stock engine may hurt it or blow a head gasket.
