Installing a track bar isn't rocket science, but it is kind of a PITA, especially if you have any sort of lift at all and want to center the axle. I wouldn't buy a stock replacement knowing I'd have to pull the thing off in a couple of years and replace it, even if it was a lifetime warranty, free replacement. Prior to the Thuren track bar, I had a Luke's Link on the stock bar, and it worked alright but I had to tighten it up at every oil change. Not a huge problem to do, but I could see a rebuild coming soon on it. Bottom line, the Thuren bar works very well, it's awfully well-made, and I'd rather spend the money up front for a quality product that'll last a while and not make me jump through hoops a few miles down the road.

I have a question on how the joint end gets bolted into the frame. Reading the instruction. It looks like you just run a 3/4 bolt thrue the tapper hole and exspect the torque of the bolt to keep it in place and not use the tapper like intended. Is this right?

It's hard to see in the picture on Thuren's web page, but there's a kind of tapered "sleeve" that fits over the bolt where it goes into the hole on the frame end.

so if you have a lift or want to put a lift later do you have to get the weld-in bar? i was wanting to do a 4 or 5 inch lift but i think i'm just going to do a leveling kit if anything. will the bolt on work with the leveling kit? and what if i do decide to do the bigger lift so i can run 35's?

I'm running 35s leveled. But the breakover point is 3", I believe. The completely bolt-in unit is for 0-3" lift, the one with the bracket is for over 3" of lift.

Looks like it's going to take 10 day before it's shipped, must be it's build to order. It will be over two weeks before I get it. should be worth the wait.

Mine is going to show up Monday (according to UPS) and I ordered it about 2 weeks ago.

Don's a little preoccupied with his wife ready to have their baby any minute.
Keep them in your prayers.

I think he builds them to order, and has a lot of stuff going on all the time. Probably not stuff like a baby on the way, but I ordered mine a bit over a year ago and it took, well, about two weeks.

Actually, they are having a baby. I talked to him when he was at the hospital.
