Just finished putting in my thuren track bar. WOW is all i can say, i doubted for quite a while how you could make such a simple part any better. Don figured it out, this thing is just STOUT ! Death wobble GONE !

question though ...i notice ALLOT more front end vibration, and vibration in the steering wheel. Before i drop 99.00 to have it aligned, that was my first thought is now the axle isn't absorbing any of that vibration. I'm looking at a new steering dampener, sway bar pins, and an alignment. But did anyone else notice this after they replaced a worn track bar w/ dons ?

BTW ... dons customer service was just awesome, he's great to talk to on the phone, patient and has a GREAT product. Wish i wouldn't have waited so long

 

I'd start looking at the rest of your front end components.....chances are the tie rod ends are shot.....maybe the ball joints too.

Check the tire pressures and have 'em balanced.....helps narrow down the possibilities.

 

My BJs were shot at 40K miles. These trucks are notorious for poor quality front end parts..

I have to chime in here about Don, i got his track bar and had a shop install it, they put it in wrong! well it took about 2 months for everything to go wrong, death wobble so bad it scared me to drive the truck, so i emailed Don about this, he called me that morning and left a message for me to call him, with my work schedule we couldn't get together on the phone, so i actually sent him some pics and videos of this upper joint just slopping around. As soon as he saw the pics he called and told me that it was installed wrong and what to do to fix it, the next day i fixed it, he called me that day to see how things were goin. Customer service is the best i have ever had, awesome guy!! and the truck feels like a new one now!! SO check the rest of the front end parts, i had to even replace my steering gear box in Jan. Now he carves the corners like any rice burner out there... well maybe not that good but sure is impressive...

yah i figured BJ's and TRE's were shot ... was just curious if now that the axle is so stoutly held in place it emphasized the worn parts.

i dunno how much u expect form a 95 truck...i have the same year truck and going over uneven roads hurts...i just dont expect it to ever be smooth no matter what i replace...i just hope u dont end up spending alot of money and have unrealistic expectations of the stiff old trucks...for what its worth i like the solidsteel steering stabilizer...i think a good track bar such as the one u have and the stabilizer will make the fornt end feel sturdy

 

If you're truck rides that bad, you'd be flat amazed what a set of good springs and modern shocks can do! Onthe Gucci end, there's the KORE setups, then there are ways to get similar bang for less buck.

I'm STRONGLY considering Thuren's shock mounts and some King shocks.

the bottom joint is tapered, well the guy put the washer on the bottom of the frame where the tapered part is susposed to go... the washer goes on top of the frame...so it jacked everything up.. but once i got the washer moved it was awesome...
