Those that installed MBRP exhaust...???

I have an '02 quad cab, short bed. What pipe configuration do I use to install? Following The instruction sheet, it says to install the 42" pipe off the downpipe. It comes like 2" short of the muffler. Am I supposed to use the 24" pipe. and cut almost half off the 42" pipe to fit. I could probably get the 42" in alone, but the rubber hanger things would be pointing twards the front of the truck instead of hanging down. Is my set-up messed up, or do I need both pipes, and cut? I know these kits are supposed to fit all models, and cutting may be needed for shorter trucks, But I wanted to here from guys that installed these on similar trucks as mine "before" I go cutting. I was hoping to not use the extra pipe and have the extra connection, but if that's the way it is, so be it.

On mine there was no cutting. The pipe at the front coming off the turbo has a hanger that connects to the brace on the trany, the short piece I put on next, then the 4 foot, then the muffler and finally the tail pipe. It literally fell together with out problems. If your having problems you probably didn't get the right exhaust package for your truck. I have an 8 foot bed. If your is a short bed, that will make the difference.

If I remember, the instructions said to leave out the shout pipe for the short bed. I believe that was the only change.

Got it. I used the 24" piece, and cut the 42" piece to fit. Ended up with a 23" or so cut off piece. All whent well from there. I wasn't happy that I had to jack up the transmission and move the crossmember out of the way to get it in though. I never read anyone else having to do it, but There was no way it was going in if not. I tried for 45 min. to finagle and twist and turn, but there was no way it was going in without moving the crossmember. I even had to cut the stock down pipe to get it out. Never read I would have to do that either. Sooo, just a little info for anyone who has the same problems I did.
