New Turbo Choices Please

I'm looking for help picking out a new turbo. I'v been looking at a HX40 online for under $300 new.... but something tells me y'all will have another suggestion... or two. Eventually looking at adding mild injectors on top of what I've already got.

Other thoughts on what I should be looking at, and where to get it? Or is that a good deal for a 40?

Thanks.

That is a good deal on an HX-40 if the turbo is in good shape! However, make sure it has a 16mm exhaust housing and NOT the larger 18 or 21 as they DO NOT spool up good at all.

I ran HX-40/16's on both my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve and my now sold 2002 Dodge CTD 24 Valve Truck. Contrary to what some may say here, the HX-40 is a good turbo and ran very well on my trucks! I put over 100,000 miles on the one on my 12 valve before I built my engine and went to twins. As long as you keep the boost between 35-40lbs. the HX-40's will give you good service.

Another good turbo for your truck would be any of the Schwitzer S-300 Turbos that are sold my many diesel vendors but they are alot more than $300.00!

Good luck to you Sir!

Thanks for the reply....

I've also got to pick up a downpipe for the hx40, so that will add a little $, but still, not too bad.

What type of flange is my stock hx35? T3 or T4?

Thanks.

T3 so you need an adapter or T4 manifold for the hx40.

It's some trouble but I converted my HX35 to a HTT hybrid and ran safe with some 100hp injectors.

I've got something in the Classifieds if you are interested. S-300 62-12-65. I just outgrew it.

I am very happy with my HTT hybrid. I just shipped my turbo to them.
