choices,choices, too many choices
If you had your choice of replacing your exhaust to a full 4" system, or adding water and methanol wich would it be? Right now I'm running a banks wich has a 3" downpipe and I think it may be borderline restrictive. I don't have enough money to do both right now, look at sig. for mods.
Any and all opinions are welcome.
Thanks, James

Great! With only two responses, and each one different I'm still split down the middle. I read somewhere that a 3" down pipe was only good to around 300-330 rwhp. I installed this system before I went to my new turbo, so I never thought I'd be reaching its limits. If anyone has more acurate info on this exhuast system it would make the decision easier.

I have a whole lot of OPINION about the down-pipe, but no data to see if I am right . . .
My guess is that thes folks who are putting in a super short 3" to 4" adapter right after the turbo are creating an area of turbulence just after the turbine outlet that has got to be more of a restriction than the whole downpipe they are replacing.
The real question is what is your goal? If you are trying to get the highest numbers on the dyno, then I think you will get the most bang for your buck out of the meth injection. If you want to tow, etc., then I would think about tweaking the exhaust . . .
I'm sure you'll get some more responses to round out the poll

there is another option, you can build your water injection like i did for about 150.00 and might be able to afford both, list the banks in the classifieds.
but for bang for the buck theres no comparison water/meth all the way.
http://users.frii.com/maphill/wi.html a how to guide on a home made system any questions shoot , ill be glad to help.

the page isnt for a turbo diesel , but i have the specs to convert it over.

I vote for water/meth. Get the Snow system, or at least buy his progressive controller, it makes things nice and smooth when the water/meth kicks in.

No the down pipe is 3" and the rest of the system is 3.5", they kind of mislead you on thier website they call it a 3.5" monster turbine outlet pipe. HA HA I'm not doing much towing, and I am looking for better #'s. I really do enjoy stompping the **** out of P-strokes and D-maxes, so methanol is probably the way I'll go. I dought I'll ever grow up.
