def gonna need 0-ring or frie rings with new headgasket and prolly gonna want studs in there as well, they are gonna push a larger volume of air and will make big boost numbers which will kill the stock headgasket...

i know thats my next step after the tranny is back in the truck

If all you got for fuel 1.6s and the smarty for timing then I think you will get away with just a set of studs. I ran stock (no studs or orings) for close to a year with a drag comp and Jammer IIs untill I popped the HG. IMO if you dont add any more fuel you will be good to go but................who do you know thats owned a twinned turbo truck and hasnt added more fuel

got to love it! I do plan on more fuel maybe mach4s as it sits now with the 1.6s egts are not an issue. but, im greedy and need more power I might call piers and see how bad they will ding me. 425-450 usable HP ,is that to much to shoot for?

How does spool compare with an HX35 or HX35-14 and HT3B or similar combo? Same as stock? Quicker then stock? Slower then stock, but quicker then a 62/12 single?

_______________

I didnt notice any difference with the PDR set that I use ( but memory isnt one of my strong points )
To save money I used my stock 35-12 with their towing twins set and even with the tight converter its awsome.

If you plan on upping the fuel to a Mach 4 I would say atleast run a set of studs in to be safe.

My old set was a 35/14-3b and I had boost at about 1200 RPM. They spooled right now. The 35 was killing me on top end though so it had to go. A 40/14-3b works for towing also. You get a little more are and spool up is still good.

I've been running the BD twins and I only put head studs in on my HO. I know some running twins that only retorqued head bolts. I don't recommend that personally but you can sometimes get away with that.

I'm going to oring at somepoint but I'm holding so far. When I do, I'll do a marine head gasket to ease the compression some of the HO engine.
