Does anyone have a Turbo Air Guide?! I want to know if it's worth the time, effort, and cash.

we were testing products to increase our mpg. i removed the fins in the elbow to see if it helped, it made it worse, when i went back to the dealer to buy a new one i could not believe what they wanted for it. i bought the tag and tested it. the tag works better than the oem straightening vanes, at 65 mph towing it does it's best. i did notice in the testing done by tdr group that at very high cfm draw it starts to become restrictive. in summary for people that tow it is worth it for the 500+hp kids it is not. the psm, cool hose and tag gave the best but will take a long time to recoup the cost

K&N's don't work too well on our trucks. I did the same thing when i bought my truck. Went right out and bought the K&N. Sold that put on the BHAF,

and now have the S&B intake.

My theory on the K&N Style filters is this: If you are driving freeway or in town all the time and not in the dirt, you will be fine. If you get in the dirt a lot I would be scared. Trueflow's website gives very graphic evidence of the lack of filtration performance utilized by the gauze type filters. It is scary.........and I am running a K&N!

a k&n filter isnt horrible. its the people that "recharge" them with the filter oil. they soak them (and i have before too) and put them on a turbocharged engine. the engine sucks the extra oil through the filter and it sticks to the turbo, which in turn, dirt sticks to the oil.this is the theory that i've heard, and the dirt is supposed to throw the turbine out of whack and take out the bearings.....

that being said, i run a bhaf. lol

I used my TAG to reduce turbo whine with my BHAF. Chucked it when I returned to a stockbox w/AFE PG7 drop-in.
