Does anyone have any experience with the TAG ? Do you have to machine the turbo ?

 

I have it installed on my '03. No, no machining at all. The production version of the TAG actually installs into the end of the air inlet tube. The TAG has a rim on it that fits into a groove in the inlet tube. When the tube is reattached to the turbo, the TAG slips into the turbo, and seals with an O-ring supplied on the TAG. Total installation time is roughly two minutes.

I've noticed quicker spoolup of my turbo, which the stock setup can surely benefit from. My mileage has increased from a 15.8 average before the TAG to 16.7 as of today. I don't know how much of that was related to the TAG, and how much could be attributed to engine break-in (currently have just under 19K). I can't speak to EGT reduction, as I don't have a pyro.

Overall, I'm happy with it. Unfortunately, I believe I'll be taking it off soon, as I don't know if it will work with the DD turbo that's going on.
