Here we are, 2,000 miles later and home in The Yukon. On hills so steep that I couldn't hold speed with WOT in 4th gear, the EGT's never got above 950. I'm impressed with that! Before I really had to watch it and downshift fairly quickly out of 5th to keep it in "the green". BUT, it is just too raspy. Guess I should have left the resonator on! Any ideas for aftermarket gear that'll tone it down just a bit, and not push the EGT's up again?

Maybe going wiht 4 inch pipe from the downpide back would help, it will deffinatly take care of the raspyness but I dont know about volume level.

Someone else suggested a free flowing muffler. That may help.

when I got the 4" I had a free flowing muffler and a resonator installed also.

Smile Glass Pack backwards

When Warp Speed installed the 4 inch system, Dallas gave a choice of mufflers or a straight pipe. When I picked a glass pack, he asked if I wanted it the quiet way or the less restrictive way (flutes away from the engine). It is on backwards. The growl is pretty cool, but the whistle from the turbo is even cooler!! Everyone wants to know how I got it to sound like that! They are envious. Looking down the barrel of the muffler, there is very little to impede the flow of gasses.
