I bought my truck used from a dealer, 30,000 miles, no mods, just a 5th wheel hitch. I've been running a edge ez for about 30,000 along with a set of mach 1.5's for about another 20,000, and have had no transmission problem. The shifts are firm but not harsh and i've never been able to slip the torque converter clutch, I even take it to the pulls 3-4 times a year. Is there any way to tell if the trans has been upgrated?

Other than pulling the inspection cover and looking at the TC I'm not sure, and even that is still a shot in the dark.

How about you DTT and Goerend guys? Do they paint your housing and TC like the purty purple that I have on my ATS?


The dealer knows who they took it in from and I'm sure they could make a phone call for you if you ask the right way. With the miles you have on it now it is your baby so it couldn't hurt to ask them.

 

Look at the pan. If it is rebuilt, they usually put on a deeper pan. Not a sure fire way, but it might answer your question.

I'm curious to hear the outcome on this one, seems most people would warn of a soon smoked trans with the EZ and Injectors.

With just an EZ and RV injectors I smoked mine in 10k.
