stinger plus kit on a first gen?

Hello, I know that banks isnt the most popular brand for diesel mods but I was just curious if anyone has used the stinger plus kit and what do you think of it. I am just looking for a little more towing power and the stinger plus looks like a decent kit. THANKS

Please don't waste your money on that. You can have the same results for way less money, or spend the same amount of money for much better results. The only really good part in that kit is the 14 cm wastegated turbine housing.

A used take-off 12 cm wastegated turbine housing and some pump tweaks can get you to the same HP and torque levels for under $100.

Thanks wannadiesel, can you tell me what other changes I will need to do if any if I add a 16cm turbine housing to a stock 93 diesel. Right now the truck is 100% stock. I am a little confused. I read so many options (turn in fuel screw, injectors, 3200gov spring, exhaust) to get more hp out of these trucks. I am just looking for a little more towing power, I am not looking for 300hp 600lbft torque. My truck is equiped with an automatic so I want to keep the power somewhat lower. THANKSThanks

For what you are trying to do, here's what I suggest:
Get gauges, pyro and trans temp at a minimum. Fuel pressure and boost are nice, too.
The 18.5 cm housing on your truck is not bad, but the 16 cm will help with spool-up and low RPM EGT under load. It's a good upgrade for you but do not expect a miraculous change.
Get a 4" exhaust from http://www.stans-headers.com/diesel.htm or http://www.sourceautomotive.biz/index.html or www.bigexhaust.com , any of these will run you less than the Bank$ 3.5" system by itself. The only point of the exhaust upgrade is to keep EGT down while towing, it will not add much HP by itself, but it will let you add more fuel while keeping safe EGT.
Do the 3200 RPM spring install (under $20).
Turn up the main fuel screw enough that you can keep the EGT below 1200 easily when towing. That's a trial and error thing, but it's free.

You will wind up with around 200 RWHP/550 TQ out of this combo. The automatic trans will still stay happy, but a shift kit would be a good idea. I'd also suggest a torque converter upgrade so you don't turn all that torque into hot trans fluid, a lot of guys like the DTT 89% TC. At this point you will have spent about the same amount as the Banks setup, but you will have more power (and a way better tow rig).
