Is the steering damper standard equipment?

I have had a few Dodge 2500 and 3500 pickups and noticed that some had steering dampers and some did not. I bought them all used. Did they all come from the factory with the damper? My current truck does not have one and I just changed all four ball joints. The steering seems sloppy. I may have other worn parts I did not check yet or it may need an alignment. Would adding a steering damper make a difference?

Yes, my 4x4's had steering dampers from the factory.

Is your truck 2wd or 4wd?

I have a 2wd. Just wondering if all the 2500 and 3500 pickups came with the damper from the factory.
