Cool Stacks In!!!!!!

I finally got these suckers in....after months of waiting and planning. I am a little disappointed though, i think i should've mounted them a few inches closer to the bed. And i am still contemplating how to mount them to the bed. I have the rope around the one cause it leans backward at the moment. Even all the way up it still leans. I welded most of the inner bed joints, which i think contributed to the problem. But if it really bugs me i can just cut it and put a band clamp on there. Thanks for all the help and suggestions, sorry Dave i did this at work during the day,so i figured ya couldn't come help. I just got done so the pics are during the night, i'll get some better ones up and post em. And i painted the pipe in the bed, but from foolin around with it, i scratched it up, that will get fixed as well.

Hey Justin, does it sound better now? I agree that they would look better closer to the front, but hey, it's your first try. Enjoy 'em!

yeah i just rigged up a mounting for them and it pulled em a little closer, but i am gonna have to cut at the elbow where i welded and put a band clamp there so i can get em to line up perpendicular to the gound, right now one is like 10* off. Oh and it sounds AWESOME!!!!!

98 2500,
The stacks look sweet !...nice job. Is that 4" pipe from the turbo ?
Also, does anyone have concern over rain / snow going into straight stacks ?

no the 4" is at the junction where you would take your old exhaust off, just before the resonator, theres only about a foot or two then the 90 into the bed.

I was also concerned about rain, etc. Was thinking just let it idle for a while and anything in the pipes will evap out , i think some guys drill a hole in the bottom of the 9o for some drainage, and some people put coffee cans over em when not drivin

rain and stacks

it isn't the water getting into the eng that is the problem, it is the BLACK rain that falls down on everything nearby when you start it up!
